How you can help
MCG is a not-for profit, incorporated society. We have full charitable status with the Department of Internal Affairs and charitable donee tax status with the Inland Revenue Department. This means an individual or business can claim tax on any financial support you provide us.
We need a team effort from individuals, businesses, schools and council. There are many ways you can help us.
Food & drink
One of the most important resources to support good working bee volunteer groups is great food and drink.
Tools
Examples of tools commonly used for track building are picks, spades, shovels, axes, crow-bars, wheelbarrows, scrub bars, chainsaws.
Building materials
We will need a combination of ground treated timber, fastenings and warratah to build small retaining structures for benched track, bermed corners, bridges and boardwalks. Plastic pipes are needed for culverts. We will also need timber to build fun ramps, bike see-saws and raised track in skill-development areas.
Aggregate
Depending on the track, we will need clay (jump parks), surface material and mineral (inorganic) soil that sets firmly.
Free or discounted vehicle and machinery rental
Examples of machinery used for track building include mini-diggers, bobcats, and motorised wheelbarrows. Vans and trailers are used for to provide uphill shuttles for Enduro and Downhill events.
Design, print, signage, mapping and digital
MCG will need support for design and print of flyers, posters, maps, entrance and trail marker signs. We can also use help with our digital presence through site design and integration skills.

- Sign up to our database
- Help building tracks and planting trees at a work party.
- You can make an easy donation by credit card at Givealittle. It will help us buy tools and nourishment for volunteers and goes towards our general fund for track construction. $10 usually builds at least metre of track through our volunteer programmes.
